Shiv Saidha is Professor of Neurology at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and former President of the IMSVISUAL consortium, which he helped found. He specializes in diagnosing and treating multiple sclerosis (MS) and other neuroimmunological disorders of the central nervous system. His research centers on using optical coherence tomography (OCT) and other retinal imaging techniques to non-invasively study retinal changes in MS and optic neuritis, aiming to advance neuroprotection and neurorestoration strategies. Dr. Saidha has been instrumental in identifying both inner and outer retinal pathology in MS and is dedicated to clarifying their mechanisms and clinical significance to support novel therapies. His work also includes advanced imaging of brain structures and the visual pathways.
